Dear Snow,

It has come to my attention that you lack an understanding of yourself.
This year you held us all in suspense of your coming, and let me tell you-the first couple of snows were fantastic! It was perfect, just enough so that before I went to bed there were visible flurries floating around-and I woke up to find a wonderful light fluffy coating on the city. I find it annoying however, when you drop 4 inches or so, this is where it starts to get messy. It makes walking any where a sloshy mess-I always end up arriving at my destination with pant legs drenched from the bottom up. (and because of all the salt that is used, a nice white line and stiff pants when they do dry) I would appreciate snow in small amounts-unless you really feel the need to dump a large amount, if this is the case... please make it enough so that everything will be canceled--and we'll all be forced to stay inside with hot cups of tea/chocolate and then later in the afternoon bundle up and venture outside to romp around and build 'Calvin and Hobbes' style snowmen--not just messy and a hassle to get to.
That is all I ask.

Offically ready for the Cold!

Suggestion for the campus area... 24 hour coffee shop!

All of the coffee shops on and around campus close by 10 (starbucks less than a block from me) or 11! ARG! Come on people! This is a college campus, students keep strange and rediculous hours and need the help of caffeine to make all of this possible!

As you can see I purchased a new mug. I have two others... a sweet jelly belly one (its also blue, now that I think about it) but does not hold as much as the new one. My other one is a great Mickey Mouse (just the strip around the center-he's running) mug... but alas, it is dying... it is not a solid piece like my new starbucks one and my jelly belly one. So what happened over time was that the inner piece has come loose and as a result is very spillage prone-and Let's face it... I do not need help spilling things on myself. So I think, sadly... that it will be retired :(

Check out the my flickr page for more on my new mug! Hooray!

It is very important for me to be completely open and honest with all of you...
this having been said, I must tell you I am mad for bacon. Yes, Bacon--Delicious strips of cured pork. It is an incredibly versatile meat--bacon not only cooks up in just a few minutes, but it is so easy to eat (like some kind of magical portable pork... Yummy!) Plus it can add a wonderful flavor to a variety of dishes. (so many flavors, applewood, hickory, smoked or not, brown sugar cured, etc.) Bacon is so much more than just a breakfast meat-yes... it is great as a side with eggs or pancakes. But bacon is also a key player in one of the best sandwiches ever: the BLT. What would this sandwich be without the B?! You can wrap so many things in bacon--many of my favorite appetizers include bacon (bacon wraped water chestnuts for example) And how could I forget to mention meat wrapped in more meat!!? Bacon-wrapped filet mignon anyone? I am definately mad about Bacon. :)
